Get ready for sparks to fly! Registration is now open

The strongest skyrunners of the season will win the title on Lungolago Marconi...

Registration is officially open for Limone Skyrunning Extreme, which for the fifth time in a row will be the finale for the Migu Run Skyrunner® World Series in the SkyRace category. What's more, the nighttime vertical climb will close the Skyrunner European Champion, which is the continental circuit for the specialty.

The strongest skyrunners of the season will win the title on Lungolago Marconi. This year, the Dynafit-sponsored race presents two novelties: a modified course for the main race and a downhill race dedicated to super champion Fabio Meraldi, who has been working for years behind the scenes of Limone Extreme as a consultant and race director.

Limone Extreme means three races, 1,200 athletes from around the world, and one amazing spectacle. On Friday, October 13, headlamps will be switched on for the Grèste de la Mughéra Vertical Kilometer: a climb of almost 1100 meters in a nighttime course of less than three kilometers. The main event – Limone Extreme – will take place on Saturday, October 14: a 29 km skyrunning course reaching an altitude of 2,540 meters, with the start and finish on the striking Lungolago Marconi. A 10 km race for neophytes in the specialty and young athletes will also be held on Saturday. At the end of the races, an awards ceremony and memorable party will be held.

The organizing committee has decided to improve the skyrunning course to make it even tougher and more spectacular to be even more worthy of a world series finale. After the first part of the race and the ascent of the last half of the vertical, identical to past editions, the athletes will veer left on Cima Mughera for a stretch with a slight slope (in the direction of Baita Segala) until they reach the trail for the "Cuenàs" cave that will take the 600 skyrunners to Monte Carone, the new GPM of the race. They'll descend the peak and reach another segment with a slight slope leading to the crossroads for Traversole. Here the last stretch of ascents and descents will lead to Dalco. The world-class skyrunners and athletes will have one last steep descent toward the finish line, where the fastest athletes can show off their downhill skills and win the Fabio Meraldi Downhill award.
